As the first MCU film to feature a black lead, there is a lot riding on Panther’s success.

Black Panther is the 18th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after the successful Thor: Ragnarok. As the final film before May’s Avengers: Infinity War and the first MCU film to feature a black lead, there is a lot riding on Panther’s success.

The film is a triumph of world building and representation, with African influences shining through the lush production design.

Best of all is Michael B. Jordan as the best, most fleshed out Marvel villain since Loki. The battles here enter into “epic” territory, all set against a Kendrick Lamar soundtrack you have to hear to believe.
