Last week, Mac Miller tragically died after a supposed overdose. Some reports have alluded to ‘Purple Drank’, also known as ‘lean’ or ‘sizzurp’, as the culprit to his untimely death. While the drink has been used by rappers a plenty since the 90s, the Self Care rapper has admitted to its addiction in 2013.

Despite being known a Arianna Grande’s ex-boyfriend, Miller’s passing has elevated his present and past works back to the Billboard charts, as well as a rise in sales of his albums. This feat includes singles from his August 2018 album Swimming, and commercially available mixtapes such as Macadelic.
