If you’ve passed by Guevarra street in San Juan, then you’ve likely passed by Cafe Ysabel.
At age 23, Chef Gene Gonzalez opened this small bistro with full of dreams, which eventually turned into a multi-awarded restaurant, and has been consistently reviewed and included in the roster of top food institutions for more that two decades. He was also awarded as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Men in Culinary Arts, and an author to a book series on Philippine cuisine. On top of that, his success has led him to achieve another dream, which was to open his own culinary school in the year 2000.
